The Worth Within: Understanding Your True Value in a World of Price Tags

Identity, who you were born to be, thoughts, ideas, worth. Have you ever thought about how much you're worth? We as people place values on everything; both consciously and subconsciously. It drives how we act, our decision making, level of importance of people, places and things. According to a recent Harvard Business Review study, 85% of people struggle with self-worth in their professional lives, directly impacting their earning potential and career advancement.

As Psalm 139:14 reminds us, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

It begins with personal value. How we see ourselves. Our strengths, weaknesses, reflection on our past are all attributes of the value we place on ourselves. Research shows that individuals with high self-worth are 63% more likely to achieve their personal and professional goals.

I just love analogies, so here we go. Lions are born, nurtured and raised to be strong, resilient, confident, powerful, hunters and the list goes on. National Geographic research reveals that lion cubs spend their first year learning 85% of their essential life skills through observation and practice. They were made this way. They don't question how they were made, they just are. Sometimes, we as humans can get in our own way, talk ourselves out of how we were made, who we are to become and taking the necessary steps to get there.

Jeremiah 29:11 speaks directly to this truth: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

You were born to lead, serve, educate, offer a helping hand, love – and most importantly, to embrace your unique value proposition. Standing strong within that identity isn't just about mental awareness; it's about taking concrete action. Remember, investing in yourself isn't an expense – it's the highest-yielding investment you'll ever make.

Until next time, take care of yourself and others. 💜💜
